STRUCTURE AND CURRICULUM AT UNDERGRADUATE LEVEL
At undergraduate level, the university provides BA/ B.Sc. degrees which are typically known as Liberal Arts Degrees. Unlike regular degrees where one needs to select their majors just in the beginning, the courses at Ashoka University allows the students to select the major of his/her course till the mid of second year. In the course of 3 years, a student has to accumulate 100 credits by reading-
- 9 Foundation Courses (36 credits)
These 9 foundational courses are a mandate for all students to pass. The Introduction to Critical Thinking course is one foundational course which a student has to compulsorily finish in the first year itself. Major is the subject in which a student will earn his/her Bachelor’s degree – a B.A. or a B.Sc degree. Students can take courses belonging to their specialisation from the second semester itself, but they are required to officially declare their chosen Major at the end of the third semester only. In order to complete a Major in a subject a student need to complete a minimum of 12 courses.

- 2 Co-Curricular Courses (4 credits)
Ashoka University offers multiple 2-credit Co-curricular Courses in Performing Arts, Visual Arts & Languages. These Courses are a mixture of practical training in art form (e.g. dance, theatre, music) or language (e.g. French) and critical analysis of social, political, economic, and historical dimensions of these. Students are expected to take 2 Co-curricular Courses to complete 4 credits. In any semester, a student can take only 1 Co-curricular Course.

- Other (Elective, Minor, Concentration) (12 credits)

Ashoka Aptitude Assessment (Mandatory)
This Assessment is made to evaluate the thinking skills of the applicant. It has questions on problem-solving skills (numerical and spatial reasoning) and critical thinking skills (includes understanding arguments and reasoning). It has a total of 40 Multiple Choice Questions.
On-the-Spot Essay (Mandatory)
The on-the-spot essay evaluates a candidate for engagement with the prompt, critical thinking, clarity of thought, and creativity. Two topics will be given to the candidate to choose from at the time of writing the essay.
Stage 2:
Shortlist for Interview
Interview with Panel (Mandatory)
Interviewers will interact with shortlisted candidates to get to know them and evaluate their suitability for academics at Ashoka University.
Stage 3:
Decisions
On the basis of a cumulative result of the above processes a Confirmed Offer or Conditional Offer or Waitlist (upon availability) or Deferral of Decision or Denial of Admission will be given to the applicant.
